family time in NC

In early July, we got to go visit my parents in North Carolina.  My sister and her family drove up from Georgia so that we could all spend some time together.  We had a wonderful visit.  Here's a photo book that I put together with photos from our trip...

Shutterfly photo books offer a variety of layouts and cover options to choose from.

seven months old

Dear Lilah,

Another month gone by.  This month was one of lots of changes.  You've been sleeping through the night more regularly, you cut your first two teeth, you tried your first foods, and you started saying syllables.  Mostly da's, which makes your daddy happy, of course.

You may have noticed that I said you "tried" your first foods.  That is about all you've done.  Egg yolk, banana, avocado...you weren't having any of them.  You like to put everything in your mouth...except food.  So we'll have to keep working on that one.

In last month's post, I mentioned that you weren't too into rolling over.  Well right after you hit six months, that started to change.  Now you're rolling over all the time to get to things you want.  When I put you down for naps, you roll right onto your side and I often find you on your tummy when you wake up.  You are better at rolling from your back to your tummy and sometimes you get stuck there...

And it's hard work holding that head up...

"C'mon, Dada, put the camera down and help me!"

But teeth, syllables, and food weren't your only firsts this month.  We got to go visit your MorMor and MorFar in NC and you went in the pool and the ocean for the first time!  Here's a little photo shoot of you before we headed to the pool for the first time (compliments of your daddy):

You were a little unsure of the pool at first.

You went in the water for a bit with your mama, but looked a little wary the whole time.  Then your dada tried to take you in and you were not having it.  The next time we went to the pool though, you enjoyed it much more!  Same thing with the ocean.  Not so sure the first day, loving it the second!  Just took a little warming up, I guess.  Sadly, we did not get any pictures of you at the beach because we didn't have the camera.

This month has been a time of transition in another respect.  In the past couple of months, you've gone from being fairly attached to your mama to being extremely attached to your mama to doing fairly well with other people.  Your MorMor, MorFar, and Aunt Carrie were really looking forward to holding you and weren't about to let you get away without some time in their arms.  So I think that might have helped you a bit with that transition.

You are growing and changing so quickly, baby girl!  It is fun (and sometimes a little hard) to watch!  At least you're still little enough to take a bath in the sink...

I love you, my beautiful girl!

Love,
Mama
