army crawl

About a week ago, Caleb discovered the ability to scooch forward on his belly. At first, it took a whole lot of effort to move a very short distance, but he has improved dramatically in just a week. I fear the days of chasing him everywhere are just around the corner! Here's a video of the little guy in action...

month eight photos

For some reason, eight months old sounds old to me. Don't laugh...I understand that in the whole scheme of things, eight months is not in any way old. But when I tell people that Caleb is eight months old, it just for some reason sounds to me like he is an older baby now. He's not just a little itty bitty one anymore. Not sure what it is about eight months exactly. Anyway, here are some photos of his eighth month:

eating solids

So of course, it took Caleb some time to get the hang of eating solids. But once he did, he was quite good at it. Then he quickly moved from being a perfect little eater to raspberrying his food at us and complaining when he doesn't like something as much as other things. See at first, the whole eating thing was new to him so he didn't care much what it was he was eating. But now that he's tried a bunch of things, he's starting to show some preferences. He still is generally a very good eater so far though.

This video is from a while back. It was one of the first times he ate carrots (if not the very first...I don't remember now). He definitely liked carrots. Notice how he moves his hands around in circles while he eats. He does that all the time when he eats...with both his hands and his feet. Also note at the beginning how he throws his right arm up in the air and then looks like he's trying to figure out how it got there or something. He did that multiple times during that meal and it was pretty funny...

month seven photos

Perhaps it is hopeless to think that I'll ever get out of this pattern of waiting forever to blog and then trying desperately to get caught up. Anyway, here are the month seven photos I just finally uploaded. I'll hopefully have some more posts soon...
